Access to menstrual hygiene products is a fundamental right that every woman deserves. Unfortunately, many women and girls in rural areas face significant challenges when it comes to managing their periods. In recent years, the Peculiar Women of Substance Foundation have stepped up their efforts to address this issue by providing essential support in the form of sanitary pad donations. These initiatives have not only helped in improving the health and well-being of women but have also contributed to their empowerment and social inclusion.

On 27th July 2019, the Peculiar Women of Substance Foundation collaborated with Eddytour to support the women and girls in Kulungugu in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Lack of access to sanitary pads is a pervasive problem in many underprivileged communities in Ghana. Inadequate resources, cultural taboos, and limited education contribute to the unmet need for menstrual hygiene products. Our goal for this project is to make the lives of women in this community easier.
