Senior High Impact is a sub-initiative of the peculiar Women of Substance Foundation that is aimed at reaching out to Senior High Schools in Ghana and beyond.
The aim is to help them discover themselves, take them through a series of career guidance, help them know God, and find their purpose in life.
OBJECTIVES
The Senior High Impact outreach program is designated to achieve the following objectives:
- To visit Senior High Schools in all the regions of Ghana
- To embark on Empowerment Summits in the Senior High Schools.
- To support visited schools with educational materials.
- To organize capacity-building trainings to hone their skills.
- Organize career guidance sessions.
- To offer scholarships to needy but brilliant students in visited schools.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Through the empowerment summits, mentoring and coaching, self-discovery sessions, and guidance in selecting courses for tertiary institutions, a range of activities were held at the Vane-Avatime Senior High School, Ho-Vane, to teach and prepare the students to succeed in every aspect of their lives. Moreover, advancing the students at Avatime Senior High School, Ho-Vane, in both the short and long terms.
To make it easier for students to gain access to the activities being conducted, a center was designated, along with support for completing the required documentation and direction.
During the session, the students, teaching, and non-teaching staff were so glad to see us, they involved themselves in the activities held. Questions were asked from the students, teaching, and non-teaching staff, and clarity was given to help broaden their scope of understanding.
Furthermore, the students of Avatime Senior High School, Ho-Vane acted in a play on drug abuse. The play has enlightened the student fraternity on the myths, doubts, Dos, and Don’ts of drug abuse. This was an interruptive session between the students, teachers, non-teaching staff, and resource personnel.
450 students attended the program, 150 were male, 300 were female, and 52 teachers were also present. The headmistress was there to add flair to the event.
STUDENTS ENGAGEMENT
The students, teaching, and non-teaching staff of Avatime Senior High School, Ho-Vane showed up in the numbers to fully support the program to become a successful one. The initiative was endorsed and promoted by the headmistress and the teachers.
CHALLENGES FACED
- Organizing and coordinating, especially in terms of transportation and scheduling has been a challenge
- Getting Sponsorship for the program.
- Sometimes, a place to lodge to carry out the program becomes challenging.

CONCLUSION
The “little” support we had has made our outreach program at Avatime Senior High School, Ho-Vane a resounding success. The dedication and generosity of our supporters, and the resource personnel have truly made a difference.
We are open to receiving more support to aid us carry out our outreach program to impact the lives of Ghanaian students in Senior High Schools.
